Gordon A. Cain
Founding Chairman

Mr. Cain was a founder and the Chairman of the Board of Agennix since its inception in 1993 until 2002. He was founder and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lexicon Genetics, Incorporated, a publicly-traded biotech firm. He also founded Encompass Services Corporation, a publicly-traded Fortune 500 company providing mechanical and electrical contracting services nationwide. He was the former Chairman of the Board of Sterling Chemicals, Incorporated, Vista Chemical Company, Cain Chemical, Inc., Atlantic Coast Airlines and The Sterling Group, a merchant banking firm. Mr. Cain had a track record of building tremendous shareholder value across industry lines, and in recognition of his achievements, the scientific community awarded him the 1988 Winthrop-Sears Medal for outstanding entrepreneurial endeavors and the 1990 John Fritz Medal for industrial leadership. Recently, he was awarded the first Petrochemical Heritage Award by the National Petroleum Refiners Association for his remarkable contributions in the petrochemical industry. He was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame in 1990.
