Jose Engelmayer, Ph.D., M.B.A.
Associate Director of Research and Business Development

Dr. Engelmayer joined Agennix in June of 2002 as Manager of Research and Business Development. Before joining Agennix and while completing his graduate studies, Dr. Engelmayer was an Associate at Murphree Venture Partners in their Houston office, where he was in charge of identifying investment opportunities in biotechnology using an industry report and an investment strategy that he developed. Dr. Engelmayer also consulted for Identigene Inc. of Houston, Texas, recommending changes in their laboratory processes to reduce material and labor costs by 11%. Dr. Engelmayer received his B.Sc. from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from Rockefeller University, New York. The results of his work led to the funding of two new clinical research projects. Dr. Engelmayer also holds an M.B.A. from Rice University, Houston, where he received a Merit graduate award.
